That's a very interesting point, I never thought of that ! Anyone fancy
figuring out any other parallels, e.g. Jane Gallager as Ophelia ? I always
thought of his criticism of `Romeo and Juliet' as being particularly
telling - Mercutio being an amusing, reflective character like him, but one
inessential to the plot. To Holden, the plot is less essential than the
digressions (as his worries about his English class speech indicate).
