Any Nick Cave fans out there (one of our most illustrious Aussie
countrymen
I'll have you know (: )?

Yes it was good to read the interview with Nick Cave. And also
interesting to hear about some of the things he has been doing
lately : visiting poetry lecturer in Vienna, religious commentator.

The use of religious/sacred themes in Nick's songs heightens the
dark quality that they all seem to have. Dark yet powerful.

The whole ' not run with the herd' thing is evident in both jds and
nc's work. Except jds visits this theme maybe in not such a dark
way. The quality of tension within the individual is present - and the
religious allusions. I think initially I'd be happy to encounter a
character of jds's. Some of Nick Caves characters and I might feel
the need to cross the street. Nick Cave's well worth a look if you
haven't already
