You're absolutely right about the content of the two being completely
different: however, they are both very thought provoking without having to be
overly flowery or "well written." Neither author seems to be concerned with
impressing the reader. Neither writer is at all insecure with his ability or
intelligence. The result is a story without a lot of normally-required crap
for a reader to gag through. I would even go so far as to include "Notes
>From Underground" in this group of "intellectual thought-provoking
not-pretentious no-shit writing."

Really? that's cool. I would not really identify Teddy
as a Sartre like story considering that Sartre's
stories expose life in its raw, cold, and naked, and
meaninglessness true form(in his view). I thought that
Teddy was more based upon spirituality, the afterlife,
etc...I hope you are catching my drift. Anyways, I'm
glad that you mentioned Sartre because he is one of my
favorite authors.
