Subject: Bananafish (the story) help

hello all,
I'm new the list, and i just finished Bananafish for the first time...and
i'm a little bit confused here. I'm not sure if there is anything to "get"
with this story, either. The only other Seymour story I had read was "Raise
High...", maybe I need to read more to understand Bananafish a little more.
One of the things that I wonder about is the woman looking at his feet in
the elevator. Since Seymour has this supposed skin disorder from touching
people, or whatever you'd like to call it, does he have any other scars on
his feet? Possibly from Sybil?
If you could explain much about this story to me, I would be very greatful.
