No man is an island....
Do not go gently....
My poor fool is dead....

"Sometimes a Great Notion" is a wonderful book. "One Flew Over the
Cukoo's Nest" is a fine film. The Merry Pranksters were once as
important as Diggers, or Ranters, or Levellers, or Luddites.

When the world moves on to Crusades for Civilization (itself), we often
tend to forget the crazy creative folks who tried to make our loathsome
lives more liveable.

Only yesterday, I was reading an obituary for Lehmann-Haupt (?) who
joined Mr. Kesey on his psychedelic (?--it actually SCARES me that I'm
no longer sure I know how to spell that word) schoolbus, back when "fun"
was still conceiveable. . I was thinking as I read that he died too
young.... He did. So did Ken Kesey.

Cheers,

PK
