"The Perks of Being a Wallflower" is an unknown book? It seems to have
gained a lot of popularity recently, and I remember there was a review of it
published in Seventeen magazine upon its release. I think that Charlie was
intentionally based on Holden.. He's not exactly the same but there is
similarities. Considering that Charlie reads "Catcher" and relates to it
sooooo well, it just makes sense to me that Charlie was supposed to be a
modern-day Holden. Or at least Holden for this generation. On my copy, it is
referred to as an updated "Catcher."
