Just a quick note to say one of my favourite parts in JDS' writing is in Seymour An Introduction when Buddy is remembering running (like the wind I think) down the sidewalk for ice-cream. He is the fastest boy in the world, no one could ever run as fast, and then Seymour catches him up! Seymour says something like how he NEARLY couldn't catch Buddy and was worried something was wrong. As it was Seymour, Buddy doesn't really mind that he is the second fastest boy in the world. I love that little story. I know what Buddy meant about running, but in the early seventies when I was a boy, I think I must have been faster!! Neil youth in its flush and flower has a soul of whitest flame eternity in an hour all life and death in a game may youth forever weave you his magic round your ways and time the robber leave you the boy's heart all your days M G Stephenson
