I hope I have caught the few of you who haven't yet left your computers and nearly killed yourselves running red lights to get to the music store and buy Beethoven's 9th. Not in any imaginable universe am I learned in matters of classical music, but of the two recordings of the 9th I have given special time to, the Georg Solti (1972) Chicago Symphany Orchestra version is better. Plus it has the much more distinct distinction of having been recommended to me by a one-time next door neighbor whose vita was fairly topheavy with music-related accolades. -- Matt Kozusko mkozusko@parallel.park.uga.edu
