At least two particularly funny and smart essays came out of the lectures--"Is There a Text in this Class" and "How to Recognize a Poem When You See One." Both are available in Fish's collection _Is There a Text in this Class_, the subtitle of which is "The Authority of Interpretive Communities." The latter essay I specifically recall mentioning interpretive communities. Unusually pleasant and easy to read, for the unitiate out there. Here is some essentially poststructuralist theory that you can appreciate without rereading 12 times. And now, I think it's about time we added Fish to the FAQ. -- Matt Kozusko mkozusko@parallel.park.uga.edu
