Hello Michael, Welcome to the list, we hope you find it enjoyable and enlightening. Your question about Seymour has popped up, as you might imagine, now and then, and you can find most of the discussion archived at http://www.nyu.edu/acf/staff/oconnort/JDS/ where you can search the archives. Additionally, there is a link from there to the Bananafish home page, a cousin of this list, at http://slf.gweep.net/~sfoskett/jds/index.html where I believe there is a FAQ or two, which address your question. More importantly, I wouldn't mind knowing what you, yourself, make of Seymour's demise. Even more, I would love to know how you felt when you read Raise High - did you know at the time that S. eventually commited suicide? If not, would you ever have imagined it from Raise High.. and the picture it gives us of the love-struck proto-saint. By the way, I would find it a lot easier and more pleasant to read your contributions if they were written with proper capitalization, punctuation and the like. Of course your words are pleasant as they are, but I think your thoughts might just carry a little more weight around here if they are expressed in a manner suited their import. all the best, Mattis Fishman
