I think what you say on this list is more important than how you say it.
Email is usually short and uses evolving conventions that *are* different
than typical writing conventions.  However, some folks want to support
their sense of useful conventions.

I'm an english teacher with a phd and don't like to use the shift key when
online...dunno if that helps, but I'll join the Scottie fan club while
directly diagreeing with his need for proper english, will
