Don't go to ebay! Please, before you go any
further, try the Advanced Book Exchange
(www.abebooks.com) or keyword search that name on
Yahoo. It is a central website that 2500-3200 used
book dealers advertise on. I've sworn by them for
about a year now.
I entered the title, Catcher in the Rye, and the
publisher, Bantam and got 58 Hits - here for you I've
pasted in the first 30 hits from the first screen, as
you can see - many are under ten dollars and one
(entry #7 @ $2.75 U.S.), specifically describes the
red covered edition; there are probably more here that
are, but you can call the each bookseller to find out.
Any of those mid-late 60's printings are worth asking
about. Priority mail is going to run $2.50 - $4.00 so
that's a much better total price than ebay any day!
Give it a try.
