Yes, one might have sooo much more money now and
wouldn't care for fiction, drink enormous quantities
of bourbon, take sleeping pills, fight with your grown
children and ex sons-in-law, and would probably have a
revolver skulking in his/her dresser drawer or
cupboard.    

So, not necessarily poor, but to be surrounded by
books, the best music ever and enough (or a little
more than enough) to get by - there's always
Elderhostel for later if you can't go to Paris, Rome
Stonehenge, or Macchu Piccu in the near future.
