Re: you NYC freaks...

As far as travel plans go I hate them (the whole spontaneity ((sp?)) thing
is very appealing to me). However, tenatively I do plan on being in Times
Square for the "Millenium." (Yes, I know this is quite cheesy, but I always
wanted to be in NYC for the new year and the opportunity presented itself.)

Back to the topic at hand. . . I should be in NYC for the new year and then
back again later in January to start school. This leads me to another
topic, my prospective enrollment. Does anyone from NYC have anything they
think I should know about The New School University/Eugene Lang College?
Any advice about the city in general? I know I sound like a country bumpkin
with these statements- I should dissipate this conception--let me introduce
myself now:

Originally from San Francisco, CA; the actual city, NOT a suburb. Lived all
over CA and the southwest. Moved to Washington DC last year, came to New
Mexico & Colorado for the winters (love to snowboard), (hopefully) going
back to New York this winter. Aspiring student, love to write, consider
Langston Hughes and JDS to be gods. Love to read Tolstoy and Dostoyevsky.

BTW- I made a shirt with the words "Far From Perfect" written in black
block letters on front and find that it illicits the most bizarre responses
from people on the street. Everyone has a different interpretation. One man
approached me and asked if I was a mathematical theorist (I believe there
is some sort of geometrical theory that deals with the idea of "Far from
perfect"). Any other takes on these 3 words?
