a treasure from the attic

While I was rummaging in the proverbial attic, I came upon a small
surprise: mailing list mail that goes back from February 1997 through
June 1997. The archive until now has gone back through most of June,
but that was the earliest. This new discovery adds hundreds of new
old messages to the archive and is by far the largest chunk of
material I've discovered. (The only other bit that comes close is a
lump of messages forwarded to me by Sonny, but they were not in a
format that could be "hypermailed" into the form the archives take.)

So, the data is there now for perusal. The word indexer is running
now, and should take another half-hour or so to complete. The URL is
www.roughdraft.org/JDS/.

It's only occasional that we who till these fields come upon a nice
round turnip, and when we do, it's cause for wonderment. Or
something like that.
