In a paper I wrote on the Nine Stories, I set out to pick one word out of each
story's title that I could use for reference. I don't have the book with me, so
I don't know the order in the book, for all you picky people, but I can remember
every story, so here they are:

"A Perfect Day for Bananafish" BFish (can also use "Perfect")
"Uncle Wiggily in Connecticut" Wiggily
"Just Before the War with the Eskimos" Eskimos
"For Esme -- with Love and Squalor" Esme (optionally use "Squalor")
"Down at the Dinghy" Dinghy
"The Laughing Man" Laughing
"Pretty Mouth and Green My Eyes" Green
"De Daumier-Smith's Blue Period" DSmith
"Teddy" Teddy (go figure)

We all know about _Catcher_, _Nine_, "Franny", and "Zooey". Many of JD's
un(der)published stories are burdened with even more cumbersome titles. We
might also choose single keywords out of those stories, like:

"Raise Hight the Roofbeam, Carpenters" Roofbeam
"Scratchy Needle on a Phonograph Record" RapDJ
"A Young Girl in 1941 with No Waist At All" Supermodel
"An Ocean Full of Bowling Balls" Balls

All right, all right, I'm being silly with the last three. You get the idea.
