Since the regime represents (or at least speaks on behalf of....) 1.3
billion people, it's always fun to wonder...
But as someone who sometimes dabbles in Sinostuff, I'm pretty well baffled
by the committee's decision. There are at least a dozen Chinese
writers--most, if not ALL living in exile--who'd pop to the top of my
personal list before Gao.
And then, of course, there's always Jerry.
