Hey John,

Believe it or not, Brian Mulroney SOLD Michael Eisner "the image" of the
Mountie. My copyright/trademark lawyer friends tell me that it's therefore
illegal for anybody BUT Disney (and, one assumes, the RCMP itself--oops, I
keep trying to avoid those acronyms! But it's almost impossible) to use the
funny hat, scarlet tunic and diarrhea bags.

Cheese soup?!?!?!?!?!?!? Yuck! But I fear that French Canada must take
responsibility for a particular crime against humanity known at
<poutine>.... Basically, take a bunch of french fries and cover them in a
mixture of bad gravy and melted cheese (more than likely "Velveeta"....)
After Celine Dion, it's the worst thing to come out of Quebec since news of
Montcalm's premature demise.

Cheers,

Paul

OSR--(OBLIQUE Salinger Reverence--at best) Bruce's post about Marcus
Aurelius sent me not to the Salinger canon, but to Barlett--which was
already off the shelf....

"This Being of mine, whatever it really is, consists of a little flesh, a
little breath, and the part which governs." Meditations II, 2

"Thou wilt find rest from vain fancies if thou doest every act in life as
though it were thy last." Ib, 5

"Remember that no man loseth other life than that which he liveth, nor
liveth other than that which he loseth." Ib, 14
