Tremendous. May I borrow them?

I'm sure you're right, Bruce. I connected it to Boo Boo in my head for some
reason. Still, the Glass family connection is in two spots in this story:
the scene with Walt, and Lew's love for our Dear Old Friend.

I'm sure also that Eloise is not pregnant in the Uncle Wiggly train scene...
never have I read it that way until this very day, as a matter of fact.
However, just to continue with my much-loved role of devil's advocate, the
comment that Ramona looks just like Lew could be from disgust that she's not
only living with the wrong father, she's beginning to look like him as well.
Sort of like a dog starts to look like their owner.

I know, I know, it's reaching, but hey, I like reaching.

I've always loved "Uncle Wiggly in Connecticut" for the very reason that it
can be read a thousand different ways. Each time I go back to it, I find
something new. Of the Nine Stories, it's number three for me, behind "For
Esme, With Love and Squalor" and "The Laughing Man". (Scottie, I'm getting
the most tremendous pleasure out of typing out titles in full lately.) It's
a statement that I can make about most of the old man's stories, as a matter
of fact. Layers upon layers of meaning.

Regards,
Cecilia.
