I've just recently resubscribed, so I thought I'd reintroduce myself.
My name is Jim Rovira...previously subscribed under the e-mail address
antiutopia@aol.com. I unsubscribed some time ago because, well, I just
ran out of things to say about Salinger. Between recent contact with
Cecilia Baader (she e-mailed me to ask me a college admissions question)
and reading Margaret Salinger's autobio...I felt like it was time to
join the list again...so here I am :)
I'm a graduate student in English at Drew University in Madison, NJ.
I've written one essay about Salinger that's currently published online
at www.bananafish.org, and ALMOST got published in a Salinger
anthology...sigh. It was cut at the last minute due to space
restrictions, because mine was the least academic (deliberately) out of
the bunch. I'm currently teaching two sections of Freshman composition,
and work to make money and eat at the Financial Aid office of my
university. I'm going to be visiting Fordham U in the near future to
present a paper at a conference there (about the movie The Matrix --

contact me privately and maybe we can get together.
Like everyone else I read too much. I'm reading the Arabian Nights and
Rushdie's The Satanic Verses right now. I like almost everything, so
there's not much use making a list. I'm divorced and dating someone. I
have four kids...great kids. I'm usually too busy. And I'm looking
forward to hearing some talk about Salinger...
