Which of M. Salinger's criticisms of JD do you think is unfair? I mean,
fighting in a war (even WW 2) doesn't exempt you from all criticism --
if JD were a pederast, we'd still manage to criticize him despite his
previous wartime experiences. If there's something about the war that
lingered on in his subsequent life, though, that I would understand.

And how does JD's son differ in opinion?
