I guess I'll have to add my autobiography (severely edited):

I'm old, but still here. Though, considering recent world events, I
sometimes think "I've seen enough!". It's immensely saddening when you see a
war starting at my age, at any age...

I love Salinger's work, but I have a very broad taste in literature that
extends in every direction. I won't list my favourite authors due to space
restrictions. I meant to ask a while ago. Has anyone here ever read any of
William Brinkley's work? He had a bestseller in the 50s with 'Don't Go Near
The Water'. He wrote a handful of subsequent novels, but never reclaimed his
early sales. I enjoyed his novel 'The Fun House', which came out about 1961
or 62. It was set in a NY magazine office - kind of like Life Magazine. It
was by no means a masterpiece, but it had some witty writing, and the
structure was interesting. Basically a non-linear bunch of character
sketches and amusing anecdotes. Heller's 'Catch-22' uses a similar
structure.

Anyway, I better get off this darned internet. I haven't posted in a while,
but I read all the messages everyday.

Best wishes
MJ.
