Pretty interesting quotation...where did it come from?

Jim

PS I'm teaching, by the grace of God, Introduction to Philosophy at a local
community college this semester. Honestly, it's more hair raising than
most any literature course I've sat in, trying to teach undergrad students
one or two of the basic ideas in Kant's _Critique of Pure Reason_ in 1 hour
and 15 minutes, not to mention Spinoza, Leibniz, or even Descartes. Even
more hair raising having them read parts of these texts.

They complain about the difficulty at times, I have to stop every ten
minutes and say, "Have I lost you yet?", then sometimes backtrack a bit,
but you know something?

I think most of them appreciate the challenge.

One of the three or four students who seem to engage the material the best
is Hispanic and has a verrry difficult time writing clearly -- but I love
reading what she writes, because she's almost always saying something.
Probably the most self conscious writer is from the Ukraine and is very
aware that English is her second language -- but her reading of Leibniz was
just what I'd expect from a Continental European and her essay was one of
the best written.
