Under those circumstances I'd be tempted to make any appeal, but really the
appeal I'd mostly likely to make is that the author doesn't own his
readers' minds simply because he owns the rights to his books...nor does he
own the meaning of the words he uses, even if he does own the combination
of the words he uses.
