I actually have a copy of Fiction Writer's Handbook laying about three
feet from me. I had Fiction Writer's Handbook recommended to me by a high
school English teacher. From there I read Strunk and White's Elements of
Style, but besides these two obvious ones, is there any other particular
books on writing that you would recommend? I have been writing for about two
years, but I have seemed to hit that inevitable block that happens when you
finally decide that you want to be a writer. I also have hit a block as far
as good books to read. I haven't found anything I enjoy lately. You all
seem to enjoy recommending books, so I break my observational silence to ask
if you know any good books for a well-read 17 year old about to start
college.
