Re: Salinger Unpublished & Unavailable Manuscripts

Good question, I'll have to look it up to be sure. But there are only four
sources I have. Princeton's Firestone Libarian. Paul Alexander. Ian
Hamilton's original "A Writing Life." And University of Texas at Austin.

I don't have my Paul Alexander handy. With his book you can look in the index
for the story titles and it usually gives the date. If they're not there,
I'll have to scan through Hamilton's text. Hamilton's last name is misspelled
on the cover of the "Writing Life" transcript...I wouldn't be surprised if it
was his typo...I'll get back to you, Kim.

i wasn't sure if those were typos in the dates for
'the daughter of the late, great man' 1959; and 'a
young man in a stuffed shirt' 1959.

1959 would put us in the era of the glass stories. i
was under the impression that all unpublished stories
(whose titles are known) were pre-catcher.

if the answer is 'not typos', do you recall your
sources for the dates of the two stories?
