not at first. you see i started writing my explanation, and then i 
glanced up at what you wrote, and found out that i was repeating you. 
but i wouldn't say he couldn't deal with responsibilities entirely- 
perhaps, muriel is the bananafish! yes and she is feeding upoun 
seymour emotionally/ pschologically, and as a last ditch effort for 
the bananas (seymour) he puts a bullet thru his head to try to kill 
the bananafish, but whether he was successful we do not know.
