I think as a general rule, from what I have seen, that everyone in this forum keeps in mind what Salinger WOULD have wanted us to conclude from the work, and some like, say, me for instance- don't always fully "get" the meaning of the story- and others may simply want to share their thoughts so as to gain a new perspective- with the best of intentions- in the interest of each other and J.D.
