Warren French notes that "Uncle Wiggily" offers glimpses of mr. salinger's 2 key worlds. When last discussed, mr. french was still solid with his belief that "Uncle Wiggily" can be a key to unlock 9 stories and more...i'm reducing too much here, but basicly the "nice world" is idyllically remembered while the phony world is a vulgar reminder of present realities like husband Lew... later in the article mr french wrote "The point that the story presents a contrast between two worlds was certainly missed by those responsible for my 'My Foolish Heart'" and he then spends the last few pages of his essay explaining differences between movie and story before concluding that the basic perishablity of nice worlds and phoniness of persisting worlds provide the "warp" on which all of salinger's published work is woven... it's too grand to work, but I think mr. french's dichotomy can be a pretty fair reading lens for those who use it...will
