All this talk of Zooey . . .

I'm wondering how all of you Salinger fans have heard and voice the 
pronounciation of the name?
I've often seen and heard the name Zoey (Zow-ee) used as a female's given 
name.20

Salinger's character of Zooey (Zoo-ee?) is quite another name I think. I'm 
guessing BB and WH's daughter is Zoey not Zooey.
