I may be one of the few who like this story but I do...it tells a lot about Seymour and in my reading, combines god-seeking and writing in some very powerful ways "If you have the stomach to read this letter dear God, be assured I am meaning what I say!" writes seven year old Seymour while he worries about sentence construction....and the killer is when Seymour remarks that his friendly librarian is concerned that his God seeking willl upset the "applecart of his poetry." I recommend you get yourself a booster rocket of reading Blake and trying to get into Hapworth's orbit...I have read it half a dozen times and it does get better IMHO. No, it's not as easy to enjoy as almost any of the other later published stories but it's worthile reading at some point for folks still curious about the glass family. will
