I find it odd how music can influence people so much >>

Well they're both ways of extreme expression. There is the influence you were
talking about, that a song has lyrics that inspire you to read a certain book
with similar words even though they have no connection. And then there are
other subtle influences such as ideas it brings you that makes you run for the
comfort of a book saying the same thing in a more extended way. Music gives
you thoughts the way literature does and brings you to emotions, memories,
ideas, inspirations, the same way getting ideas from literature does. Although
the two come in such different forms they're practically the same thing. Like
Seymour telling Buddy "writing is your religion. when has it been anything
else?" , music is the same religion for many people. Tehy're so
interconnected, so it should be no surprise that they influence people over
the other one. Once again my thoughts get jumbled as I try to express them on
the page. If anyone understands and can put better words to it, please feel
free. :} ~Lynda
