Scottie, you as Faust is not thoroughly convincing to me for some reason.
Even so, I sometimes *do* picture you as Woland in Bulgakov’s The Master and
Margarita. The lover of evil but hater of phoniness.

The problem is that Faust, even a modern variant as Woland, has never been
plain insulting.

Hinting someone’s writings are of poor quality because of rejection should
be below you. We all know it could or it could not. You definitely know it.
Even *if* we could pinpoint quality and weight it, like a bunch of J F
Pritchers, Ph.D, all that would give us is a probability curb anyway. No,
when you’re hinting that, you’re merely being insulting, nothing more.

I do find true joy in your writings. Your “sort of answer” is a perfect
example of why not having you here would make this list a heck of a lot less
fun. A joy are also your *sharp* variants of you Faust ideal. God knows we
need ‘em.

But if you want to be rude to all us nice, tax-paying Pharisees, maybe Jesus
is a better example, after all.
