Sorry to trouble the entire list with this, but I do this only because
other senders may have received the same problem.

The ISP (Internet Service Provider) I had been using announced, with a
week's notice, that all accounts of my type, which I use to do a lot of
work, aside from bananafish, would be discontinued.

This is like having your landlord tell you that you must move out in a
week and that you can't take your furniture along.

The company that registers network names (in this case,
"roughdraft.org") takes a long time, often, to make the underlying
changes such that mail gets pointed in the right direction. So,
Scotty (and anyone else who sends mail to that address) will temporarily
get a bounce. If you send it to me at "tim.oconnor@nyu.edu" it will
come through. Or "oconnort@nyu.edu" -- either goes to the same place.

Sorry for the confusion, folks. Sometimes even the technical people are
at the other technical people. (Something to think about the next time
you experience a frustrating network problem. 8-)
