Wow, that somehow sounds really sophisticated compared to my book...
"Noise From the Underground" is a 'secret history of alternative rock'.  It's 
basically surrounded around the photography of Michael Lavine, but the text 
is is by Pat Blashill and the introduction is by Henry Rollins.  It's an 
awesome book.  Great pictures of Sunny Day, Sonic youth, et. al.
