I just stayed up to an absurdly late hour last week watching an absolutely
delightful Japanese movie called `Tampopo'. It really is a textbook example
of great story-making - the storyline was simple, just about a woman who
wants to make good noodles - but it was so effective and made me wish I was
in Japan again like I was six years ago. Anyone else seen this movie?

P.S. I'm extremely eager to read that book about translations!
