no way one could put her or his favourite books in an order of appreciation=
,
so here they are (not even alphabeticaly):

Douglas Coupland - Microserfs
Nick Cave - And the ass saw the angel
Shakespeare - Richard III (I know it's not from this century, but time
didn't get hold of this one)
Raymond Carver - Where I'm calling from
B. E. Ellis - American Psycho
Franz Kafka - The trial
Alan Warner - Movern Callar
Roddy Doyle - The van
Jose Saramago - Blindness
Jean-Paul Sartre - The wall
Gabriel Garcia Marquez - 100 years of solitude
Don Delillo - Underworld
John Irving - The world according to Garp
S.F Fitzgerald - The great Gatsby (thanks to bananafish)
Antoine de Saint-Exup=E9ry - The little prince
Frank Zappa - The real Frank Zappa Book
and of course: JD Salinger's Catcher, F&Z, 9S, Raise High&Seymore and most
of his uncollected stories...

and three Dutch books, I don't know if they are even translated in English,
so I translated the titles myself:
Gerard Reve - The evenings
A. F. Th. Van der Heijden - The toothless time
Tom Lanoye - Carton Boxes
