Hi, my name is Japhe Gregorini and I come from a small Italian family in
North Canada. I don't know how big this list is but it's nice to know how
many of you are from North Canada as well. Some people say Geography is for
granfalloons, but I'll beg to differ. Anyone born in teh crisp white North
will tell you what it's like to go without natural sunlight for most of the
winter. Any NC native will tell you what it's liek to jump start a battery
in -40 C weather. You might say that it's like living in Kansas or
Wisconsin, but I'll beg to differ. We have winter all year round. It is
always cold here and as a result the people do what they can to warm
themselves up, and in the process, warm others up. What I plan to do at
this mailing list is to warm you all up from the outside in, because people
are freezing everywhere, regardless of Geography. I am 28 years old and
you've just received my mission statement. I've read Catcher in the Rye by
JD Salinger and A Perfect Day for Banafish. I've a few theories as to why
JD might have instructed his characters to perform like they do, and you
might want to hear them, but this is not why I join the list. I have readf
the archives on the bananafish web page. I join the list today because
readers of JD Salinger are a different sort of people. I know this for a
fact. I remember in highschool those who like THCITR and those who skipped
the resading assignment and those who thought the book was boring. Those
people that liked the book the most were always disconsolate people and
usually intelligent. They had personalities inside themselves, deep ones
that they rarely showed to anyone, not even me, the trusted friend of many,
but it was obvious they had the second personality and that personality is
the one I wish to address in my future correspondence with this list.
That's the personality that must be addressed if warming is to occur.
Everything else is a mask and can only conduct heat, a fraction of the
input. I have a steamy furnace of a heart and sometimes I do get angry when
the two balancing plates slip against each other, but I promise not to
direct anger at any of you. I have a deep passion for the world and I hope
all of you will consider the convicted words of a humble wood worker. I
look forward to meeting you all!

Until then!

Japhe
