Ah, now you have tapped onto my other passion. Where do I start? How to
limit myself to a mere 20? And yes, it is relevant because I think, on the
basis of De Daumier Smith alone, not to mention varied random mentions in
the other books, that JDS must have quite an encyclopaedic knowledge of art.
Anyway, here goes, in no particular order:

Phew ... anyone else want to comment before I do the *next* twenty? Here's
another question - your favourite artworks? Now, that's quite a different
question again!
