I've never seen the film "The Exorcist", but I heard
it was going to be re-released into theaters with
never-
-before-seen footage. Then I was at the bookstore a
while back and saw the book that the film was based on
and bought it. I am on page 327 as I write this(385
pages total), and I'm just in awe of Blatty's style
and use of research. I was wondering what people think
of this film(and the book if you've read it). I'm not
as interested in whether or not people believe
exorcisms really exist and/or work(we could debate
that for ever), but I'm interested in Blatty's use of
people like Carl Jung and Jung's psychiatric analysis
of people who are "possessed", members of the occult,
etc... Did Carl Jung really study this and publish
this material? It sounds fascinating to me:)
