hello, i'm matt, a new boy
i didn't know about the list or the salinger.org site until yesterday. i
bought nine stories from a secondhand bookshop after just having been bought
franny and zooey for my birthday. my friends do not read and i wanted to talk
about what i had read so i looked on the net. theres a lot i'd like to know
and looking back through the list archives i'm sure you will have some answers
and ideas. what drove me straight to the net to look for a forum like this was
the story 'de daumier-smith's blue period.' i would love to hear of peoples
thoughts on the story, their interpretations and ideas. meanwhile i'll read it
again a few times. this isn't for a piece of school or college work, i
genuinely want to know what salinger's work makes poeple feel. thanks for the
opportunity
