Where was the Laughing Man when we needed him?

Yes, indeed. A great time was had by all--with the possible exception of
me, during those last two painful innings. Will (who is both a saint--since
he procured the tickets--and a seer--since he had the foresight to leave
just before the Jays batted in the eighth, and thereby avoided the mutual
embarrassment of watching a grown man cry....) even arranged for a full
moon--which is possibly why Jerry came cleverly disguised as an empty seat
(BX 612, Row B, Seat 13--for all you section folks who currently slave away
at Ph. D.s about bananafishistory....) I can't believe Carlos struck out,
with the bases loaded and only one out! But I can now only suggest that
Seymour probably picked up that gun after casually glancing through the box
scores in his Miami Beach hotel room, and learning that his favourite
grapefruit-league team (the Baton Rough Bodhisatvas?.... the Florida Fat
Ladies?) had again blown it Big Times in the late innings.

Didn't I originally suggest the THURSDAY evening game? Boomer Rules!

Tim (whose modesty is exceeded only by his erudition) manfully fended off a
group of post-game Yankee fans who'd helpfully offered to remove my BlueJay
shirt and burn it for me. (Enterprising concessionaires--don't 'ya just
LOVE the Bronx?--were already asking $3.75 for a SMALL flask of spring
water, perhaps in anticipation of my immanent need to douse the flames....)
I have only one quibble with Tim's subsequent report:

I DESPISE the Braves even more than I hate the Yankees.

But I'm keen for a re-match--Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday next week, in
Skydome. Any interested bananafishes?

Cheers,

Paul (the BlueJay)
