i need help.
hardcore advice.
i know i don't post much... but i need the word of fellow writers...
please take this seriously, as it is making me nuts.
so i got accepted into a class that was the kind where you send in a story...
and the teach decides if you're good or not to get into the class. cool. i
got in. the teach even compared my story to that of the great gatsby.
whatever.
so last night was my first class. eek.
i haven't been in the class room since i got my degree. ugh.
the thing is... i am a writer, can i say that and feel ok. but when i'm in a
room filled with the egomaniacs... i don't feel like a writer, i feel like..
a surfer or something.
they just want to talk about themselves... their stuff. their loves...
and not to sound like an agist, but i can't stand to have older people in the
class.
they feel like their years on me make them wiser than me...
i can bail from the class and still get my cash back.
i love the teacher. she is great.
some of the students were, ok.
help?
words of advice from other writers that so far haven't come across as
egofreaks....
