Did you guys ever see Glass perform live? My parents took us once, when he was playing/performing in the Opera (we laughingly call it that) here in Amsterdam. It was "Koyanisquatsi", with the film on a big screen and the music performed live. I was really shocked.
The Dutch reflex to Philip Glass/"Koyanisquatsi" is mainly that it's the only film worth seeing on German TV since they dub everything in German, which we don't do and which we hate.
How about Salinger references to Ph. Glass? Anyone?

Zazie.

I like his CD Solo Piano very much.

PS: Phillip Glass has been a personal favorite since the 80s for me...I used to see him in the East Village and he didn't act like a genius but I thought he had really done something in music that was, like Salinger, so individual and so likeable, I couldn't help admiring the work greatly. I still listen to Einstein on the Beach with awe and wonder and consider it the great opera of my time.
