Well, this I understand. It's not easy to get something to leave you
alone, and publishing is one way to do it. (But even then, sometimes
not.)

I'd argue that my words are me, for I've expended so much effort in making
them sing on the page. When you put so much self into something, it's not
easy to dismiss it as "not you."
