Well, Mr. Anderson does confess that there is some Salinger influence.
Again, it's not based on Salinger's work, there's simply an influence...I
don't know how anyone can walk away without feeling some of his influence,
if not just the feel of New York City as depicted in Salinger's work. He
uses such subtlety, though, that I suppose it is hard for some to pick it
up.

i saw the movie the other night and confess i must
agree with the director. if it hadn't been for this
list i would never have thought there was suppose to
be a salinger connection or influence. i didn't find
anything salingeresque (?) or salingerian (?) about
it, though it was an engaging two hours.
