Microfilm, however, is typically free from user-inflicted damage. And
it can be consulted free of charge.

If you can't be bothered to go to a good library, or to investigate
interlibrary lending, or to read microfilm...well, how badly do you
really want to read Salinger's early bilge? Go back to reading Mark
Leyner books and discussing Beck albums. Eventually, the Salinger urge
will subside.
