i don't know the exact dates, but if he was working on franny while
his wife was getting ready to pound out a kid, wouldn't been kind of
natural for him to start thinking about it alot and possibly
stat including little hints and crap about what he was seeing in his
story and maybe just decided to do it? huh? damn.

(ah hell why not)

yes why not that. couldn't it be possible that she thought she was
and thus started saying "what the hell is this shitbox and what the
hell am i gonna do about it" or something?

Or another thought totally in contrast to the above. couldn't the
spiritual quest also be brought on by the fact that her brother
splattered his brains all over a freaking hotel room when she was a
kid and she is still dealing with it all inside?

couldn't it be a combination of the two?

you thought about this already didn't you? damn.

damn straight or something (sorry to get in on you argument, but when
it's plastered in my email box, it's free territory)

As far as we can tell. But it's only a glimpse. Not the whole novel
like Holden had. Take Holdens little escapade with Sally Hayes where
he starts going on about going west for instance. Within the novel,
you see Holden grasping again. We know about his prior experiences,
and by now we are seeing the track he is on. But if you just saw
that one incident (you can actually sort of do this if you only read
"Slight Rebelion Off Madison") you wouldn't see Holden as being so
unstable. Maybe, just maybe, Franny has been having the same sort of
build up. Maybe it's been growing like Holden, but we only see
apart.

Just a thought. damn.

what, can't women be pregnant anymore?

wow. structure.

and good content. as i said earlier (yeah i know you don't care)
i've never thought that myself. the pregnancy bit. but your doing
good to make me see the whole picture. thanks.
