Call it bibliomancy, or whatever, but I happened to have a copy of F&Z
next to my computer when I read your message and opening it randomly, came
across this passage [Buddy writing to Zooey]:

Besides, I don't think in the kind of philo that JDS seems to talk about
there is any bias against acting in a soap opera, shitty or otherwise.
