okay, I'll admit that I may be wrong, but I was under the impression that Matthew Salinger was one of the writers/producers/whatever on MSCL. I swear that somebody brought up that point here on the list last spring. It would make sense though, wouldn't it? I mean, MSCL is the only television show I've ever found that covered the same themes of basic human existence with as much depth (if you can call television programs deep) and....i'm searching for a word and can't find it. What it basically did was make me feel the same way I felt when I finished Catcher, like somebody out there understood what was going on in my life, what it was like to be me or any one of a million other teenagers out there. Granted, not every situation on the show was one I had come across in my life, nor was I the type whose chin would quiver reminiscent of Angela whenever something bad happened to me, but in retrospect that show seemed to give me some understanding about why things happen and why the way I deal with things isn't necessarily wrong, but rather similar to the way others deal with the same conflicts. do I sound stupid? let's just say that it was one of the only things ever put on television that was truly refreshing to watch. aside from absolutely fabulous, that is. that show is a riot. jessica :)
